2010 Membership

Dear members and friends of ORDA,

I’d like to wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year and hope you have all coped with our winter so far.  It looks beautiful but it’s causing havoc with everyday life. I bet when you’re all snug indoors in front of the fire with a cup of cocoa, you’re all be thinking the same thing – I can’t wait to get back out there racing! Not!

Still, before we know it, Spring will be making an appearance and you’ll all be trying on your overalls or Official’s shirts to see if they still fit, ready for the 2010 season.

I hope to see lots of you at the AGM in Portsmouth/Southsea on the 23rd at the Holiday Inn at 2pm followed by an open Forum and hopefully at our Dinner Dance. Shirley has had a great response this year and we are truly grateful for your support.

2010 looks like a great season again. We are racing at a new venue this year at Harwich at the end of July/beginning of August hosted by SEPA/AYC. There’s talk of free race entries, v.i.p. facilities for crews and families, subsidised fuel and loads of fun events so this sounds brilliant.  I know first hand how hard it is to get event sponsorship to cover race organisation costs plus lighten the expense for you all, so this will be a treat that you all deserve. As soon as we get a finalised calendar I will e-mail you all the details or post it on our ORDA website.

I have attached a 2010 ORDA Membership form for you. Your membership is so important to us and we really appreciate your continued support. We couldn’t manage without you.

I hope to post reports on the website when the season begins.  I had great intentions to send out more last year as I had retired from racing but still ended up back in my old seat for the latter half of the season!
